May 7-8th, 2014: At the Heart of the Matter: "Promoting Parent-Infant Bonding in the NICU and Beyond," Keynote Address at the National Association of Perinatal Social Workers (NAPSW) Annual Conference in San Antonio, TX. Also presented with the Preemie Parent Alliance, led by Kelli Kelley, an interactive workshop:"A Look Inside the Preemie Parent Experience: How Perinatal Social Workers Can Help."
On February 20, 2014, Dr. Hall presented a talk on how NICU staff can enhance parent-infant bonding, and moderated an afternoon session at NEO: The Conference for Neonatology, in Orlando, Florida. The theme of the session was "Surviving the NICU: Parents' Perspectives on Neonatal Care." Among the presenters were representatives from the Preemie Parent Alliance, led by Keira Sorrells, and Dr. Tony Orsini who spoke on "Breaking Bad News."
On October 3, 2013, Dr. Hall presented the Keynote Address at the annual conference of the National Association of Neonatal Nurses in Nashville, TN. Her topic was "Helping Babies and Parents Bond in the NICU: The Critical Role of the Neonatal Nurse."She also moderated a workshop with Keira Sorrells of the Preemie Parent Alliance on "The Preemie Parent Experience: How NICU Nurses Can Help."
Dr. Hall, Keira Sorrells and members of the Preemie Parent Alliance presented workshops to the NICU staff of the River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, MS on September 10-11, 2013. The workshop title was "Inside the Preemie Parent Experience: How NICU Staff Can Help."
Kelli Kelley of Hand to Hold and Dr. Hall presented a workshop on "NNP-Parent Communication in the NICU" at the Texas Association of Neonatal Nurse Practitioners conference on April 5, 2013 in Fort Worth, TX.
NICU Helping Hands Foundation of Fort Worth, TX hosted Dr. Hall on February 11, 2013. She spoke to healthcare staff at local hospitals on "Doctor-Parent Communication in the NICU: Crossing the White Coat Divide." She also spoke with NICU parents about "How to Survive and Thrive in the NICU and Beyond."
Dr. Hall gave a presentation on "Partnerships with Providers" at the Preemie Parent Alliance Summit on Friday, September 21st, 2012 in Chicago. Other presenters included Phyllis Williams-Thompson, who is Associate Director of Domestic and Global Partnerships for the March of Dimes, and Judy Meehan, Founder of Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition.
Dr. Hall presented Grand Rounds at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, on April 5, 2012. She presented "Lessons for New Doctors" as Keynote Speaker at the Midwest Medical Student Association meeting in Kansas City on March 31, 2012. Dr. Hall presented the Prematurity Briefing at the Kansas City March of Dimes Prematurity Conference held November 17, 2011 at the Overland Park Marriott Hotel. The conference was entitled "Improving Pregnancy Outcomes: A Community Collaborative Approach."
On October 17, 2011, Dr. Hall presented "Parents' Emotional Responses to the NICU Experience" at Boston University School of Social Work.
Dr. Hall gave the "Marjorie S. Sirridge, M.D. Outstanding Women in Medicine Lectureship" at University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Medicine on September 27, 2011; her talk was entitled "Lessons Learned During a Career in Neonatology."
On September 24, 2011, Dr. Hall gave a presentation at the Kansas Book Festival in Topeka, KS. The festival featured published authors, illustrators and poets who were from Kansas or wrote about Kansas.
